If we are to listen to bigots ( such as those coming out of the woodwork and living under pond scum in T&T) who maintain that the main point of being human is reproduction ( rather like rabbits or wildebeest ) then one should safely conclude that giving the world minor things like, I dunno, the computer and cracking the Enigma Code count for nothing. I suppose the same people who suggest that gay people are somehow effete and not capable of real love and bravery might also scoff at the life of the remarkable Gad Beck who showed exactly what real love is all about:
Perhaps the single most important experience that shaped his life was the wartime effort to rescue his boyfriend. Beck donned a Hitler Youth uniform and entered a deportation center to free his Jewish lover Manfred Lewin, who had declined to separate himself from his family.
The Nazis would later deport the entire Lewin family to Auschwitz, where they were murdered.

Never judge other people based on your own flawed moralistic preconceptions. And never express your ignorance while typing on a machine that wouldn’t exist were it not for those people you hate.
RIP Gad Beck. Love is what makes us all human regardless of our orientation. Still, I wonder how many bigots could come even close to matching your bravery? I imagine none.

I was born in Dublin so the song resonates with me especially.
Based on the poem by W B Yeats – No Second Troy
WHY should I blame her that she filled my days
With misery, or that she would of late
Have taught to ignorant men most violent ways,
Or hurled the little streets upon the great.
Had they but courage equal to desire?
What could have made her peaceful with a mind
That nobleness made simple as a fire,
With beauty like a tightened bow, a kind
That is not natural in an age like this,
Being high and solitary and most stern?
Why, what could she have done, being what she is?
Was there another Troy for her to burn?

I had a hard time deciding which videos to post but I have settled on three – the first one represents how I really feel about love. Hope you enjoy them and LOVE you all for visiting - Happy Valentine’s Day!
The amazing Darren Hayes singing a song that I knew was written long before he came out and married the love of his life ( civil partnership) in Australia.
Bulgaria you say? Sure here is AZIS.
And what would Valentine’s be without Lizzy the Lezzie? Nothing I tell you! Here she tries to get the lyrics right.

What an amazing personal story from an older Hawaiian LGBT person. Speaking of culture and colonialism and loving yourself.
The I’m From Driftwood Project is one of my faves.
