Pretty remarkable. An awesome song by Macklemore & Ryan ( featured in an earlier post) but to my knowledge this is the first place it has charted much less hit #1. Via Same Same ( @samesame on Twitter) click them to read more. They also featured this lovely remake of the song by a young guy which is pretty poignant and current.
I ran across this song and video today and it touches me deeply. So beautiful and evocative.
The Guardian UK has written about the singing twins:
With its sleepy, minor chord synths and innate sense of longing for what could have been, Saint Lou Lou’s debut single feels like the perfect end-of-summer song. In fact, the disparity between the seasons and climates infuses everything about the music made by twins Elektra and Miranda Kilbey, the pair splitting their time between the crisp winters of Sweden and the balmy summers of Australia.
I had a hard time deciding which videos to post but I have settled on three – the first one represents how I really feel about love. Hope you enjoy them and LOVE you all for visiting – Happy Valentine’s Day!
The amazing Darren Hayes singing a song that I knew was written long before he came out and married the love of his life ( civil partnership) in Australia.
Bulgaria you say? Sure here is AZIS.
And what would Valentine’s be without Lizzy the Lezzie? Nothing I tell you! Here she tries to get the lyrics right.
I seem to have missed this while I was writing in Toronto. If you don’t know about ZSADAR you really should as Shane Newton pushes the boundaries as all truly great fashion should.
One can speak of the human subject in universal terms.
Not made for man but for mankind, ZSADAR pushes boundaries by challenging aesthetic interpretations of conventional menswear.
ZSADAR’s experimental approach constructs raw and muted collections: minimalist, yet meticulously detailed.
The natural lines of the body are referenced through slim-cut fits and draping which contribute to a dark and androgynous mood.
ZSADAR moves beyond conventional approaches to Australian menswear with designs that have international appeal.
Darren Hayes, the out former front man of the hugely successful band Savage Garden shares some very personal memories of his best Christmas ever. I will admit I got teary eyed and watched it again with my mom which only made me cry more. According to Wikipedia :
He married (via a civil partnership) his boyfriend of two years, Richard Cullen, on 19 June 2006 in London.[14][15] Though public speculation about his sexual orientation had been present throughout his career, he is famous for keeping his personal life private.
