Spirit Day 2012 and the spirit of support expands around the world showing bullied kids and bullied LGBT kids in particular that they have allies everywhere. Wear purple…such an easy way to make a difference and if a kid comes up to you as a result thank your lucky stars that you have been privileged to offer support and safe harbor.
I spent my evening at the Carlton Savannah ( my neighborhood hotel) for the Project Runway party again. This evening was special because I spent it with my twitter friend Haydn so that was plenty cool. Anya was not there but she will be back for next week. She was in NYC tonight but she was with us via Skype.
Via my friend Shannon. This is a subject that brought Eric and I together – the victimization of those who are different in some way. We always said that if there was one single thing that brought us together it was the death of Seth Walsh. We identified with him in a way that is hard to describe.
Apologies to those who VEVO chooses to block.
For my closest confidante Eric who lit up every day for me. I may stop crying one day but I will never stop missing you Eric Cooper.
W. H. Auden
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead,
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.
He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood.
For nothing now can ever come to any good.
